Natchathram is a Christmas song. There are 3 verses, the first one is sung by one of the wise men, the second by a shepherd and the third by Simeon. These were the people to whom the birth of Christ was revealed supernaturally and who came to visit the baby Jesus. The wise man sings : I saw a star in the sky and it told me a strange story. I adored savior Jesus and gave him gifts of gold and myrrh. (Matthew 2:2-2:10) The shepherd sings : I was tending to sheep in the night and saw angels appear wondrously. I went to Bethlehem to see the baby who filled our minds. (luke 2:8-18) Simeon sings : I was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. I went to the temple to see him. I held the son of God in my hand and received great peace. (Luke 2:25-32)
