Kaalayil is all about the morning. It is set in a raga that is usually used in ‘morning’ songs and is in a certain style of singing. There are 4 verses, each one refers to various verses in the Bible that have to do with morning. 1^st verse : The Lord who created this world said, He who seeks me early in the morning shall find me. So let us seek him early. 2^nd verse : He faithfully pours out new grace every morning. Let us humble ourselves before him and worship Him every morning and receive new grace. 3^rd verse : Birds wake up early in the morning and sing his praise. Let us also wake up early, before the sun rises high and sing our heartfelt praises of Him. 4^th verse : Like Moses who rose early and went up to the mount to receive Gods commandments, let us also draw nigh to him who resides in bright light and receive his commandments.
